Obituary for Raymond Long

Raymond Long, age 60, of West Haven passed away suddenly at home on January 17, 2018. Ray was the loving husband of Debbie Bruno Long. He is also survived by his children, Christopher, Dillon and Molly Long all of West Haven, his siblings, Judy (Paul Cummings ) Long of Southbury, Steven (Rose) Long of West Haven, Catherine (Dan) Ober of NC and Robert (Kim) Long of Branford. He was born in New Haven, son of Mary Bernardo Long of West Haven and the late John E. Long. He was a loving Uncle to his nieces and nephews. Known to most as “Driver 17” Ray was a devoted employee of Star Distributors for over 40 years. He was greatly involved in the youth of West Haven beginning with the Shore Haven Junior Baseball league and later committing over 20 years to West Haven Youth Soccer, as “Coach Ray”.

Ray always enjoyed his family, and would tell you to live life to the fullest.

And remember “Keep Calm and Bergeron”.

The hours for visitation will be Monday from 4-8pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. His funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Tuesday morning at 10:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Victory Church at 11am. Interment will be private.
