Barbara Atwell McGill, 83, of West Haven passed away peacefully on November 8, 2017. She was the beloved wife of Gene McGill who was her devoted caregiver and by her side throughout. Cherished mother of Susan (William) Murray and Robin (Kevin) Shevlin. Proud grandmother of Dana and Shannon Murray and Kevin and Casey Shevlin. Barbara retired from the University of New Haven where she worked as the executive secretary to the athletic department for 30 years. She was an active member of the Church of the Holy Spirit. Barbara’s family would like to thank the entire staff of Milford Hospital for their compassion and kindness.
The hours for visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10:00 in the Church of the Holy Spirit, West Haven. Interment will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
