Rae Hartman, age 97, of West Haven, died surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at home. She was the wife of the late Harold Hartman. She was born in New Haven on August 2, 1919, daughter of the late Christopher and Frances Russo Quido. Rae worked for the Veteran’s Administration as an Administrative Assistant for 15 years until retiring. She was an avid baker, especially her personalized individual gingerbread men with every family member’s name on them for the holiday, her hand crocheted individual Christmas stockings for her family, and her beautiful flower gardens. She loved rooting for the Yankees and taking her chances at luck at the casino. Rae is survived by three daughters and their husbands Judith (Donald) Hart of Springhill, Florida, Frances (Roger) Lincoln of Northford and Janice McDonough of West Haven, three sisters, Rose Costanzo of Hamden, Marge Criscuolo and Josephine Consolatore both of East Haven, 8 grandchildren, Wendy Madore, Donna Anderson, Donald Hart Jr., Lorri Koepke, David Hart, Roger Lincoln, John McDonough, Craig McDonough, 16 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Frank Quido and three sisters, Ann Sprague, Mary Villano and Florence Anastasio.
Visitation will be Friday morning from 11am - 12:30pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. Her funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 12:30pm for a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Victory Church at 1pm. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
