Michael N. Chernovetz, age 95, of West Haven passed away Monday, January 16, 2017. He was the husband of Gabrielle Boutin Chernovetz. Father of Michael (Pamela)Chernovetz and Adele (Harry) Finer. Brother of the late Anne Kuziel, Kay Sanford, Mary Miessau, Helen Schlosser & William, Vera, Violet, Peter, John and Sophie Chernovetz. Also survived by three grandchildren Michael (Jill) Chernovetz, Lori (Jimmy) Grant, Kara (Anthony) Rogers and the late Mark Chernovetz and six great grandchildren. For 40 years he was self-employed in the plumbing and heating business, retiring in 1985. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the Polish American Club, West Haven. Nick’s favorite pastimes include playing cards and watching sports on television. Until leaving the home he built in July, he tended to his garden as he had for decades.
Friends may visit on FRIDAY between 9:30 and 11 am at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. Interment with military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery at 11:30.
