Obituary for Michael Patrick DiMaggio

Michael P. DiMaggio, 83, of New Haven passed away on October 18, 2016. He was the husband of the late Rita Gonzalez DiMaggio. Father of Theresa P. DiMaggio and the late Michael A. DiMaggio. Brother of Elaine Ginsberg, Anna, Rita and James DiMaggio. Also survived by his grandchildren Joseph DiMaggio & Kelsey Komoroski, great grandchildren Joseph Jr., Mason, Isabella & Victoria, niece Michelle Ginsberg and nephews Jerry Ginsberg and Dr. Joe DiMaggio. Michael was predeceased by his parents Michael and Theresa (DeLucia) DiMaggio. He proudly served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He grew up in West Haven and was a boxer in his younger years. For 30 years he was a truck driver for DeFelice Trucking. A handsome man and always well dressed in his suits, a favorite hobby was going out dancing with his wife. He loved to drive his Cadillacs and to spend time at the West Haven beach.
Visitation will be Wednesday morning from 9 to 11 with a service at 11:00 at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. Graveside services with military honors will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
